Hello,

I pulled down the msp430gcc and work thru the samples code, it's great. but it
does seem to support msp430f2131. Can some one please point me to how i can
get the inlcude, libe, etc files for this mcu.

thank
dtran

Hi,
I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. Have a look in the
mspgcc-users archives and look for: MSP430F2131 "Could not erase the Flash".
Be aware, this type of MCU is not fully supported yet! I had a lot of
trouble, and I still have. But keep on going!

Regards,
Ben

Sorry Steve,
I was a bit sloppy reporting every problem I had.

Problems and bugs:
1.
As you know I'm using msp430-gdb.exe for downloading the program, since the
msp430-jtag.exe didn't work with this MCU.
The problem happens at the beginning of a day. When trying to download the
program for the first time, erasing doesn't work.
I get various error messages. Then I try again and again, entering "monitor
reset all" and "monitor erase main" as far as it suddenly works. This can
take several minutes.

2.
Downloading a program always takes about 2 minutes.

3.
Don't know how to work with the debugger of msp430-gdb.exe. After download
the console window states:
Transfer rate: 686 bits/sec, 37 Bytes write.
At this point the window doesn't take any inputs anymore. I don't know if it
should. I never worked with the program before.

4.
In msp430x21x1.h:
After sfrb(CALDCO_xxx, CALDCO_xxx) the semicolons were missing.

5.
In msp430x21x1.h:
A define was missing. I think it was #define __msp430_have_basic_clock_plus

6.
In register CACTL2 it doesn't know P2CA3.
Dont have time to figure out why, yet.

Luckily, I'm on vacation now. So don't expect me to respond next week.
Regards,
Ben

Another problem I had right now with another device of msp430F2131:
msp430-gdbproxy.exe states different errors:
-unknown device
-device not supported
-fuse is blown

Then, after a couple of minutes, suddenly it gets connection!
